all the cool kids move to Brooklyn

Why is everybody moving to Brooklyn? Especially the super-cool kids? The closest I've ever lived is Ithaca, unless Providence is closer as-the-crow-flies. So I moved out to Seattle -- as hip as it gets, in 1998, but by the time I moved there in 2000

What does everybody know that I don't?

I have a feeling Queens is the next Brooklyn.

By the time that happens, I'll own property, so I might actually benefit from it.

Time Out magazine has already proclaimed Manhattan to be the New Brooklyn, so perhaps it's more a matter, what with the gentrification that doubled the rent on my downtown Bklyn apt. in the space of a year, of Brooklyn becoming the next Queens. Or perhaps the art-school graduates flocking to Williamsburg, Long Island City, and Astoria will secede from Kings and Queens counties to form a sixth borough: Loftlands, or Artopia, or something.
