(no subject)

In no particular order:

• I'm on a search committee for computational linguistics faculty; I spent a good part of yesterday reading through applications. It's a bit of an ego-battering, because nearly every application is very strong and -- of course -- has recommendations from people who think the applicant is awesome. I may one day be one of these people.
• I received a package today from trombo2 and lapartera; it includes Dutch tulips (yes! they'll be worth millions!) from trombo2's trip to that nether land, and lovely mended socks for exterra and me from lapartera.
• I'm working through my morphology paper and it's going to be a bit rather way way way over the expected length. It's supposed to be 5 pages, but I'm only half-finished with section 2 (of 4 plus appendix) and it's already 5 pages.
