lazyweb LaTeX question (actually, BibTeX)

Does anybody know whether there's a good reason to use apacite for APA style references instead of natbib with apalike which comes with my tetex install?

I'm inclined to use natbib, with apalike just because I won't have to install anything new. and it seems like natbib is a little more popular though perhaps not as strictly coherent to the APA rules.

Anybody worked with this?

Update: This page from Reed suggests that apacite and natbib together is the way to go.

Have you considered pepox? It is easier to work with APA formatting then gujomb or lakaschmek...

you know, I did consider pepox, but it turns out that lakaschmek's been updated recently and so it might be better supported.

sorry, that post caught me in a particular mood that could not be resisted...

don't apologize; it made me giggle.

Sometimes I reflect on what I'm doing and I really feel like a wizard -- the old kind, with magic incantations and seemingly meaningless ingredients for a peculiar potion.

your response pointed out that I was acting that way.

it is magical incantations. The words actually can control things in the world, even more directly than the old abracadabra-style stuff!

i so want to steal lakaschmek for the name of my next programming project.
