Thanks to ivan_durak for pointing out the latest piece of insidious evil from the Bush Administration in a marvelously sarcastic commentary.

Quoth Georgie W.:

Marriage is a union between a man and a woman, and my Administration is working to support the institution of marriage by helping couples build successful marriages and be good parents.

Obviously, we're protecting the institution of marriage by bankrupting the economy and any chance that someone who needs to live separately from a potential or former spouse would have the economic resources to do so. Obviously.

This Proclamation from GWB is so close to being unbelievable, that it's hard not to laugh and cry at the same time. Where oh where are we headed?

As I said this morning, the one bright spot is that Arnold cannot be elected president because he's not a native-born American.

Actually, since financial troubles are the #1 contributor to the divorce rate and since GWB's persistent tax cut and accompanying spending increases shift the fiscal burden to the next generation, it appears that the administration is actively hindering couples from building successful marriages and being good parents.
