Maybe it's the new month.

Maybe it's the bad karma leaking up from New Orleans or Washington or Baghdad.

Maybe it's that I stayed up too late last night in Oakland watching a dumb movie with old friends, and then drove back to Palo Alto after midnight.

Maybe it's that I'm not super excited about being here in Palo Alto; the work I'm doing is mostly reloading livejournal this week, while other stuff happens at molasses pace.

More likely it's just being too long away from loved ones and friends.

Whatever the reason, I'm cranky today. I feel lonely, and out of touch.

That doesn't sound like fun at all -- except the old friends part. But you'll be home again soon, right? This is the last week of this underwork situation! Maybe you should concentrate on enjoying the down time?? Easy for me to say who can always find work to do, it seems.
