I packed not one, not two, but something closer to nine boxes full of books today. Mostly trade paperback collections of comics. I think I should revise my renters' insurance upwards: these wouldn't be cheap to replace.

I discovered that all twenty-eight super-small bound volumes of Lone Wolf and Cub fit neatly into a box that held "Legende del Milagro" tequila, with exactly enough room left over for all five of Scott Morse's Soulwind.

I like having lots of books. I have a whole shelf here, plus three boxes stored in New Orleans, plus a bookshelf full at my parents, not to mention the boxes of academic texts in their basement. The only problem is that those I keep around are those I haven't yet read, so I don't like to lend them out...

What? Only nine boxes? I'll bet you left Providence with more than that -- how many years ago. . . ? Or was that just the comics?

I shudder to think how many boxes it would take to pack up our house. Of course not ALL of them are mine . . . . just 95%. :-)
