here we go again
Feb. 10th, 2005 05:11 pmI'm getting pretty busy.
Tomorrow morning (too early!) I'm giving a talk to the computational linguistics lab about classification methods (they wanted me to talk about SVMs but I think it's better to give the high-level view comparing nearest-neighbor, generative and discriminative models). I've got a neat language-modeling for machine-translation project that I haven't gotten time to start on (but I'm supposed to be 50% finished with -- bad grad student! no free snacks!).
In addition, I'm keeping up with the reading and homeworks for my syntax class -- fairly easy, really. The last homework mean was in the 70s but I had a 97 (makes me feel bad for those on the other statistical tail, really). Meanwhile, I'm supposed to be introducing the colloquium speakers (nudge, nudge
caracola), keeping up with reading groups, looking for more funding, and (oh yes) working on my thesis.
Oh, and moving house. And
imtboo is also going to be moving house. Yes, it will be a crazy month.
