another day, another gray hair

I gave a talk today (on multi-tape transducers for Arabic morphology, not that many of you care) that I wrote from start to finish last night and this morning.

Thank goodness for a sympathetic audience -- I think the presentation went rather well, actually -- but I think that I gain another gray hair every time I pull a not-particularly-well-planned presentation into something that looks like I know what I am talking about.

Ah, well. On to the next overdue project. I am looking forward to a break...

As I recall, you've been doing just that since you were about 3, love. Should be completely gray by now. Instead it's your dad who's gray! But then he's be angsting about presentations for a lot longer than you. I'm betting it was stellar.

yes, but i've only realized that I was faking it over the last ten years. And there's a suspicious coincidence with the incidence of gray hair there...
