[Update: this was a typo for a related phrase that I thought was so marvelous that I'd make a livejournal post. But yes, I do like persimmons. And they're in season right now.]

It should be obvious that this procedure will gain you persimmons on every iteration, but forgiveness only some of the time. Furthermore, I expect that as the procedure is repeated, the forgiveness:persimmons ratio will decrease rapidly, particularly if it is carried out in a relatively small area.
