vacation in order

K. pointed out yesterday that I have not taken a vacation in a very long time. Going to conferences doesn't count.

Where should I go? I may be able to get in a long weekend some time....

If I were to go on a vacation, I'd probably visit my aunt in Seattle. Maybe you should go on a cruise. I've long wanted to go on a cruise. You're in the Pacific NW, right? Maybe a cruise to Alaska.

of course, cruises aren't cheap, but oh well.

I'm in Seattle, as a matter of fact. If you come out to visit your aunt, you must visit me.
Alaska might be a nice trip, but I have mixed feelings about cruises. (I typed "curfews" by accident, because of a conversation I was having with exterra, but that's another story.)

heh. those all sound like fun. I don't know very many people in Vancouver, but I do know a bunch in San Francisco and New York. Visiting my brother in Brooklyn, for example. And all my NY friends seem like they never make it out to the West Coast... there must be something there to keep you all so busy.

Well of COURSE I could say San Francisco, but P and I recently went to a bunch of national parks on a camping trip and had a FANTASTIC time. There is so much beauty that America has to offer. Maybe that could be fun for you :) We really enjoyed Lava Beds and Crater Lake . Mt Lassen was pretty too, as was Oregon Caves.

You should go to Neah Bay. Drive up North to one of the collest most remote parts of Washington. It's the best drive ever . And if you like david Lynch you're in for a treat.

I just realized I didn't reply to this question. Maybe I did in person?? But, the answer is, and continues to be, of course. You may also want to save up for 09-10 and I can be your hostess (assuming a more senior prof doesn't jump our current sabbatical queue and displace me...).
