Is it possible to pre-emptively ban someone from your journal?

Wow. If I didn't know for a fact that that attitude is everywhere, and often hidden, I'd be glad to be gone. I don't want to participate in that discussion, but I'm wondering which children I'm supposed to stay home and nurture?
