eggcorn sighting

My undergrad ment-ee just wrote the following very interesting eggcorn:
we start out with 585951 pain-stakingly hand-labeled data, and 738723 unlabeled data.
(bold mine).

I would bet my neat hat that this word comes from "pains-takingly". But I understand why he would decide it in this direction.
