Debian's still my favorite
Dec. 18th, 2003 09:11 pmSo I'm now a firm believer in Debian Linux. And they've recently had a problem with security on their servers (see this news article and this one).
But why am I still a believer after this setback?
apt-get and the APT system in general. Specifically, the ease of installing new software with apt-get; I love being able to write apt-get install logjam and have it "just work".
Debian's commitment to free software, especially the democratic constitution. Who else could support a system of free software using a democratic medium?
Ah, I gotta love geeks with a social conscience.
