I just walked by a conversation that said something like: "well, this p is included as a slack variable but it increases the dimension to deal with the possible sparsity in the vector", and I realized

1. that is an astonishing piece of doohanian
2. I understood most of it

and then I realized I'd:

1. coined a word
2. used it in a seeming contradiction

at the same time.

I do study this stuff, in more ways than one.
