solri's Language Clinic continues to be a spectacular hopeful monster hybrid of etiquette advice column, Safirian language curmudgeonry, Undeniable Facts, and the Uncyclopedia.
It is a prime example of the call for this Uncyclopedia flag.

For all you Heroes fans: I've never seen the show, but I just realized that I went to college with Masi Oka [Hiro in Heroes] when I saw his picture and name above the masthead on this Seattle Times article/interview. I remember Masi as funny, kind and smart. Guess I'll have to watch the show on DVD when it comes out.

I believe Masi was a CS15 TA in fall of the 93-4 year, so he'd TA'd a lot of CS majors who graduated in 97.

I was never a CS major, and I never took CS 15. (I probably should have, but I am happy with my roundabout route into programming!) I knew him through my moonlighting as a carpenter (sometimes I even got called "set designer") in the blackbox theaters, and through lunacow and neilfred, I think (at least, I think I remember a party we were all at, at neilfred's dorm).

I didn't really know him, but neilfred was friends with him, through both CS and theater. We haven't watched the show yet, but are intending to.

Masi Oka is totally the best thing about Heroes. The way that show handles the Japanese totally makes my little sociolinguist heart melt with glee.
