My surgery went well. I was out in less than 50 minutes (so imtboo tells me) but I don't remember even getting wheeled down to blackwingedboy's car. I have a vague memory of climbing the stairs -- I remember thinking about stopping to sit down; apparently I did, but I don't remember that.

imtboo got me some food, and another painkiller, and I went to bed. I got up to throw up -- all at one go -- and then went back to bed again, and slept for four hours or so. Woke up with icepack still on my head, feeling much better. D. has some nice posts and a picture about it.

A big thank you to imtboo and to blackwingedboy for being my support for this. I don't even remember that blackwingedboy was there, though he must have been. Thanks bwb -- I hope I'll be able to see you tomorrow morning (scrambed eggs and juice are within my eatability range right now).

Anyway; doing much better today. Still some soreness in my lower left jaw, but I have found that I don't need the vicodin -- ibuprofen seems like enough.

today's remaining agenda: rest and relax some more. imtboo is out shooting photos at a rehearsal, and out to see a play tonight too -- I'm not pushing it, so it's DVDs and -- if I still don't feel a need for the vicodin -- perhaps video games. (vicodin + videogames == frustration, though).

I don't think I've ever commented in your LJ before, but I'm a friend of a friend of a friend.. But.. I too had all 4 wisdom teeth out at once back when I was 24. The surgery went very quickly for me.. I remember them asking me to count down and then I was waking up in recovery (outpatient) and my mom was there. I asked her "They're done already" but it came out, "hmfgkk mmphkghh hhthhmub," due to all the cotton wadding in my mouth and the 'take home lobodomy gauze wrapping and ice pack' around my head. It was about a 20 minute drive home after that and I think I walked to the car and then slept for the ride home. My doctor never gave me any vicodin.. he said most people can manage the pain with consistent doses of ibuprofen. And that's all I used. I didn't find it very painful.. more just sore and annoying. 3 days of eating pudding and yogurt and gargling with salt water. Actually they gave me a special syringe to squirt the salt water onto the places where my teeth used to be. Mom went home the next day and I was solo for the rest of my recovery, but it wasn't all bad. Just rather boring with the food. Oh but my dentist/surgeon said my teeth were difficult to pull too... and for proof I had his hand print on my neck from where he had to hold my head while pulling (I guess) but definitely had 4 fingers and a thumb sized bruises on my jaw/neck.
Anyways.. hope you get better soon. First 3 days are the hardest.. particularly with all the spitting blood (not trying to gross you out, just saying) You may still find scrambled eggs difficult tomorrow. I found I couldn't chew for several days.
