What I did on my winter vacation

imtboo and I went to Aruba. See the pictures.

For the first three days, I was in the windowless conference halls, while she enjoyed the beach and the pool. But I escaped, and we went out later and ate amazing food and watched sunsets and napped in the daytime and just generally loved the island, which speaks English, Spanish, Dutch, and Papiamento.

After ten days there, we came back to the US through Atlanta and visited lapartera and trombo2; _dkg_ also came down from Brooklyn. (Pictures to come; the visual highlight of the Atlanta visit was definitely our trip to the Atlanta Botanical Garden to see the Niki de Saint Phalle sculpture exhibition.)
