It's a chain letter meme, adapted from imtboo's post here. She posted about a friend's first comment in her journal, so I'll post about her first comment in mine.

imtboo's first comment in my journal was a recommendation to go visit Neah Bay, along with a mysterious hint about her identity. In the ensuing thread (over two days), she flirted with me, I flirted back, we discussed Romance languages and romance -- appropriately enough -- bloomed as she asked me out ("I am not hitting on you", sheesh) and I accepted (after, I think, this hint from caracola), leading to this date, and we're together eleven months next Friday.

I miss her. This is the longest I've been away from her since then. We still haven't visited Neah Bay.

by the way, I find this thought very heartening. It's not that I needed the reassurance, but it's just a beautiful observation. And it makes me happy about me and imtboo.

Holy CRAP were you flirting! Sheesh! That's awesome. The funny thing is that those comments came in real time, so they were slow and built on each other in actuality. Reading them, you read them as coming quickly, so it looks even more ballsy than it was!

I realized recently that people are really scared of that word because of what it means traditionally of course. And because everyone usually has such a stressed out horrible time at their weddding that everyone now believes that it has to be a bad thing.
Oh and also because so many people get married in order to prove to each other and their close ones that they love each other.
And all these are wrong reasons to do it.
It's amazing how much impact language has .
Well, that's nothing new really... but. I wish I had a little spy camera into people's brains and what images they get when they hear certain words. It's fascinating.
