I spent a lovely weekend, mostly at my house and at imtboo's. We were in the internet cafe late last night, laptop propped against laptop, sitting against the window, and a photographer came in and asked us if she could take our picture. "We're so very Seattle, with our wireless and coffee," said I. "It's 'cause we're hot," said Ms. Boo.

I realized in the cafe last night that I didn't have my lab notebook. I wasn't worried about it -- I figured I'd left it at home or at school. This morning I was awoken at 6a by a helicopter circling low over Cap Hill; my thought was that it was somebody taking pictures of the dawn on the city. But it kept circling, and I wondered if there was a chase or fire. Nothing in the local papers, though. We got up early to deal with a paperwork mixup before work, had breakfast at a local bagel shop, and then when I got to school today I realized I still don't have my lab notebook.

So I spent my lunch hour bussing home, thinking of alternate places it might be (in the library, in second reader's office, on a bus somewhere, oh no only to find it under books on my living room table (pfew!).

Need to get chapters to advisor by tomorrow night and an abstract by Thursday. Back to work!

i forgot about it this morning! i only realized it wasn't at school when I got here and remembered I wanted to look at my to-do list... and then it wasn't here.

Luckily, I found it at home right away.
