Various sf tv serials that I should really go rent or check out from the library, assuming it's even possible to find in the library:
  • I've been told by I don't know how many people now that I need to see Firefly (is the pilot in the DVD collections?).
  • I also want to see the new Battlestar Galactica.
  • I used to like Farscape back in the day, and I wonder if it would hold up to my memory of it.
  • Some day, maybe, now that it's done, I'll allow myself to enter the Buffy fandom. But it still scares me a little. [This one actually is in the library... hmm.]
Have I missed anything obvious?

I watched Lexx occasionally when I was newly single as an alternative to thinking. It struck me as total junkfood with lots of eye candy and not-very-subtle sexual innuendo, but never quite made it to being soft porn -- which might have improved it, i dunno. I guess I couldn't decide whether it was supposed to be more like Red Dwarf or like Farscape.

but I think it might be fun some time.

Yes! Buffy fandom!

Also, Firefly kicks serious ass. It's nice to see the space western genre done right.

I was a Buffy skeptic until my roommates got me to try it by getting totally addicted and using episodes while I walked by doing typical house things. I got sucked into one episode, and Boom! I was hooked. As a person who never watches any TV, and actually strongly dislikes the medium in general, I would give you a serious suggestion to experience for yourself that Buffy Rocks. Plus, it's cheaper than crack and less brain damaging than meth...

Yes, and I have never watched a single Buffy episode, much to the dismay of all my friends. That was going to be my winter project, rental and consumption, but instead I just curled up in a corner and waited for the darkness to go away.

My Firefly fans won't even start on me until I give in and do the Buffy. One unexcusable sin at a time is enough.

I'm not scared. I'm lazy. :)

Okay, I've seen TWO episodes in my life and I loved em. But maybe this works best as a group project instead of a solo venture. If somebody gives me cookies and coffee, I'll pretty much show up anywhere and watch anything.

I think this can be arranged.

I can get these from the library and my friend Jason R...

I tell you
1. Watching them in order
2. Cookies
3. Coffee (might be switched to blood at some point in Season 4)
4. Somebody telling me to be at a certain place and time for #1-#3 on whatever regular basis is decided.

That's my requirement list. I also have never seen Farscape or Firefly. And thanks to lame television, I never made it past Season 4-half way of Bab 5. I've never seen an episode of Xena either, should that come up.

You'd think with as much television as I watch, which hello, is a lot, I would have taken care of these bits.

Oh, being a tortured intellectual is hard work...
