yes, bad medium for deadpan humor. Not because any other medium is better for it (when done well, deadpan humor lacks nuances in the moment of performance) but because there is no context to make it immediately clear that someone is joking.
yah know, some people study this stuff 'cause they have to, I don't know many who find pleasure doing so... :P I'm not going to even pretend I know what this is talking about, and you know, that's ok! ;)
