Isn't there something satisfying about finishing just in the nick of time? If I finish something early, I'm usually convinced that there's more I could do to make the project/paper better. So, I tend to procrastinate to the point that will allow me to spend only an amount of time on the project that corresponds to its relative importance to me. Ah, rationalization is a beautiful thing.
