The current hardbound tome I am working through has, in the last several pages I've read:

Vapnik's Optimal Separating Hyperplanes
... by imposing some heavy restrictions on the class,... we have avoided the curse of dimensionality.
Am I reading Elements of Statistical Learning or The Player's Handbook?

The question immediately becomes: how does one roll dice in flatland?

Wait, but which book is that? Now I still don't know. Rolling dice is so easy to compute compared to Bayesian logic, though.

Looking forward to a Gaussian mixture-model character-generation scheme as an improvement over the old 3d6. Oh, wait. That is a Gaussian mixture model.

D'oh!
