I had my only final of the quarter today. Technically, then, I am on break.

But I will probably spend much of this break trying to put together bits for next quarter. There's a deadline on New Year's Eve that (having already given up on this Friday) I may try to reach.

What I mean is, let's all drink beer and play board games on Wednesday night. Or something like that.

I could possibly be convinced.

Tell me more.

We supply the beer and scrabble/farming/illuminati/taboo and fireplace... You supply your girlfriend and any persons/games/beer that might want to come. Other possible attendees may include Katie, Brian & [livejournal.com profile] omeyotl...

Interested yet?

I assume you've played Scrabble with [personal profile] trochee before? If not, be warned!

I can only imagine. In fact, we're trying to think of a way to handicap him somehow... To level the playing field ;-)

i think the aforementioned beer might be a possibility.

Beer might help, as he mentioned, but he started beating me when he was about 8 and I am a reasonably good player! We couldn't use beer then, but I wanted to! And Boggle. Forget it. He'd need more than beer to lose at Boggle. It's really kind of a downer when he has 45 words and you have 15 - and thought you were doing well with the 15. :-)

so now you see why I'm letting Ms. [livejournal.com profile] imtboo make her own call about whether she wants to deal with me and my Scrabbling.

Well i can deal with you winning. As long as you know how to do it and be kind.

Sadly, I am not on break...
Wednesday is a middle of the week night for me...
I might have to pass due to current state of blahness and 10 years of sailing around the world playing board games...
but you kids have fun !
Maybe next time...

I've never played it either---something these rural Texans came up with*! It is (I quote) "one of the greatest games ever created. It has almost no strategy or brain power required, yet is incredibly fun."

*"...and was actually invented in Washington."

Sorry to hear about the blahness -- it can sometimes be a Risk, even Taboo to go out when you feel like Scrabble has a Monopoly on your Cranium. Of course, the playing of board games can sometimes be just a Trivial Pursuit prompting one to throw up their hands and scream Yahtzee! in a fit of Balderdash.

Yes, I'm aware it makes no sense. It's just my attempt to cheer your blahness. Cheers!

The catch phrase is "Plow the back 40 on your kitchen table!" What genius!

It is a low stress sort of family game that will make even the most jaded world-travelling gamer twinkle with delight.

That was funny !
My blahness is slighttly better. Due to the eradicating of evil birth control pill.
I say no to these kinds of hormones ...

I tried the pill for a week or so a few years back. Personally, it made me (and others) feel like I was going crazy. I like to think of my sensitivity to hormonal changes as a gift, rather than a curse. Of course, that's a matter of opinion...
